How I lost 17 lbs and kept it off

I started in early April of 2024, it’s now Oct 2024. it’s coming off VERY slowly, but at least it’s staying off for good this time! I’m 5’2″ and my current goal is to get down to 140 lbs. but my ultimate goal is around 115 lbs.

Ok, here’s how I did it!

MY DIET WHEN I WENT DOWN TO 151 lbs. (from 168 lbs)

  • 10k steps MINIMUM daily. I honestly swear by this! Sometimes all at once, or I’d go on the treadmill in the AM about 90 min, then in the evening when the UV was a 3 or less, I’d go walk outside so sometimes it would even get up to 15-20k steps!
  • Dieting 800-1600 cals daily, I was counting calories when I went down to 151 lbs. I switch on and off with counting cals. I definitely lose weight faster if I’m counting tho…
  • Sometimes I’d eat while my corset is on, most of the time I’d take it off.
  • Refeeds on weekends, so I’d be eating 2000+ cals, like pizza, ice cream, etc. but I seriously need to stop this, because it defeats the purpose of losing weight. I’ll gain water weight from all the sodium and then the following week try to lose it. it’s very self destructive, 0/10 do NOT recommend, BUT I’m still adding it here because I want to be honest with what I did.
  • TMI — I was getting a bit constipated bc some days I was under feeding my body, so sometimes certain body functions shut down to save calories (digestion, periods), and I had to use Clearlax (Miralax but amazon brand lol) at night before bed. Bc espresso wasn’t working anymore (or sometimes BOTH!!!) OR sometimes I’d need to drink Clearlax before bed, then in the morning I’d do a coffee with 1-2 shots of espresso in it. YIKES. sometimes I still need to do that, but usually if I stay eating a salad every single day, I’m pretty regular 🙂
  • 80-100 grams of protein daily, the Fair Life protein drink from Costco (amazon too!) 
  • my diet would be pretty boring:
    • breakfast:
      • 2 hard boiled eggs, cut up cucumber & cherry tomatoes,
      • OR instead of the eggs & veg: 1/4 cup oats w/ berries & sunflower butter
      • coffee/espresso mixed with chocolate fair life protein shake (30g protein)
    • snack:
      • banana & another protein shake
    • meal 2:
      • chicken breast w/ tortilla & salsa & veg, usually green beans (sometimes I’d add cheese or sour cream, but I’d measure everything!!)
      • OR instead, nonfat greek yogurt mixed with fruit & honey
    • snack: Lesser Evil pop corn himalayan gold or fruit
    • more eating before bed: protein shake and/or cheese stick

Some things to keep in mind:

  • I realized I can try any diet I want and workout as hard as I want BUT if it’s something that I won’t be able to keep up with, once I lose the weight, there’s like a 90% chance of gaining the weight back. — which happened!
  • I weighed myself when I first woke up, after I went poop, then in the evening. Why so much? To get used to my fluctuated weights. Some ppl fluctuate 3 lbs a day some .3 lbs. I fluctuated around 1-2 lbs during the day ex: I’d be 158.4 in the am, then after my coffee drinking water, and poop I’d be 158.8 then in the evening I’d be like 159.2 then the next morning I’d be back down to 158.4 or 158.2 or 158.8 depending on if I ate a lot of sodium the day before, how much water I drank etc, ORR I’d be 157.8 or 157.6 if I did my 10k steps and ate super healthy and low cal. I know ppl say don’t weight urself all the time bc u get obsessed, but I’m ok with being obsessed with myself. I want to know my body from the inside out. 

WHY I WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT

  • skinny privilege duh lol
  • Fit into the clothes in my closet and stop wearing leggings and sweaters. And i’m not gona buy clothes while Im this heavy, thats a waste of money
  • Not feel so tired all the time – being heavy keeps me lethargic. 
  • Lower my cholesterol even more, it was super high last time I checked which was 2 years ago, I got it down A LOT, but it could be even better.
  • I’m 5’2” and I “should” weigh in the 110s or lower 
  • I’m not into the “big butt” look anymore, and haven’t been for a while but just dealt with my big butt n hips bc I guess I figured im stuck with it because ive had saddlebag hips all my life…
  • My hips are in pain bc they’re held down by so much fat 
  • There’s certain types of men who are attracted to “bigger” women. I’m not trying to attract any man as I am married, but I feel like less men will idk, if ur a girl n have big butt and big hips and thick legs, u know wut I mean. If u don’t… well good for u!! Stay skinny and reap ur skinny privilege 
  • I’m sick of dresses and skirts running up bc of my hips and butt !!!! and having to wear skorts or shorts underneath because my booty cheeks hike the material up
  • LEG BURN!!!! when your legs rub together and burn…. 🙁
  • I’m sick of my arms making me look bigger than I am – I don’t want to look strong I wana look soft and skinny lol
  • When I met my husband, I was around 125 lbs and he was able to just…throw me around, I want that again! We’re both on a weight loss journey together, he could pick me up but I just feel heavy and uncomfortable. I dont wana feel insecure when he picks me up. 
  • I OF COURSE don’t want my girls to be smaller, I might be doing a video or blog posts on how I’m trying to keep the girls plump and big 😛

Workout updates

  • I mainly just walk 10k steps a day, or more as I mentioned earlier. 
  • initially I was doing:
    • daily abs: planks, crunches, leg lifts, standing bicycles
    • Daily bum: donkeys & doggies, side leg lifts 
    • Daily arms: Push ups and tricep extensions,
    • all body weights bc the pump that the weight training gives me makes me look bulky under my fat. So I want to lose my fat FIRST, and then see how my muscles look and if I want to start weight training again then I will… BUT NOW….
  • currently I do VERY LIGHT WEIGHTS and VERY HIGH REPS. 15-25 reps, 4-5 sets!! light weight as in 5-10lbs for upper body. 20-30lbs for legs.

Corset updates

  • I haven’t been wearing my corset as often as I used to aka every day 20+ hours. I currently just been wearing it to bed. hopefully that changes very soon… I want to go back to wearing it daily , 3” – 4” gap 16+ hours daily
  • Lately ive been getting bad neck aches bc im on my laptop sooo much bc of the classes ive been taking, so I do nOT wear my corsets during neck aches, and I haven’t been wearing them to bed either when I have a neck ache or migraine. I’m learning to LISTEN TO MY BODY, instead of forcing it!
  • Last time I measured my waist it was 30.5 almost 31” and it’s still about the same. my goal is to get it back down to a natural 28” waist but I do that with DIET AND CORSET TRAINING, not just corsets.
